As some of you might remember, a little over a year ago Bolivia endured three weeks of chaos, with strikes, protests, blocked roads and a few deaths over an overdue national census. This census was important to Santa Cruz because it would mean receiving more national resources and greater representation in government since it is a fast-growing department. The government capitulated and agreed to hold the census before elections in 2025. That census finally took place about a week and a half ago. Thankfully it was peaceful. The whole country shut down for a day as everyone was instructed to stay home while census volunteers went from home to home.

Ruth’s studies at medical school are going remarkably well. Her first semester of school started with two courses with 45 students in each course. The attrition rate has reached over 50% with only 42 of the 90 students remaining. Please continue to pray for her stamina in the program.
